About Us

We deal with Media coverage of the energy industry which requires in-depth knowledge of its operations, government policies, enabling laws, regulatory framework, international oil trading activities, the nuances guiding reporting energy companies trading on the stock market, reporting environmental issues, especially as it affects host communities, etc. Whereas there are reporters who provide daily news coverage of the energy industry for various news media outlets, it has become obvious that these reporters who are largely newbies on the beat aren’t sufficiently aware of the historicity of government policies as they affect the industry, neither are they sufficiently aware of the duplicity of some unconscionable operators. Under these circumstances, the reporters end up functioning as the megaphone of these government functionaries and operators, sadly so, on occasions when the deviation affects the growth and development of the industry. It has therefore, become imperative to strengthen the gatekeeping media function of the fourth estate of the realm by establishing the Society of Energy Editors.
